SIZING:

For your reference, here is the size chart for the GoGo Gear for Men Military Jacket. Please note, this is NOT traditional outerwear sizing. Our sizing is designed to provide a more tailored fit for our men and women and as such, it is important for you to determine your size based on your actual chest measurement.  Also, if you prefer to wear layers, order one size up. If you tend to be really bulky in the shoulder area, order one size up. If you order one size up, the jacket will be a bit big on you but will NOT be big on you like typical motorcycle or scooter jackets. If you're not sure about the correct size, feel free to shoot us an email and we'll answer any sizing questions you might have. We want to make sure you have a great fitting jacket and we're here to help you select the size.

XXS - 30" CHEST

XS - 33" CHEST

S - 36" CHEST

M - 39" CHEST

L = 42" CHEST

XL - 45" CHEST

XXL - 48" CHEST

Exchange/Return Policy:

At GoGo Gear, we want to make sure you have the best fitting jacket so we encourage you to email or call us if you have any question about sizing. As every man has a different shape and size, the standard size chart that every company has doesn't adequately address how men's bodies are different. As such, we'd be delighted to talk with you about the sizing of our jackets to help you select the size that is best for you. Unfortunately, sometimes you will receive the jacket and find that it's either a little bit big or a little bit small and need to exchange the jacket. For any returns involving exchanges, we will cover the cost of shipping the new size to you after you have sent the jacket back to us. All other shipping costs would be covered by you including those returns for refund. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask as we want to make sure we provide you with a jacket that is going to be fantastic for you! Sincerely, the GoGo Girls!

  1. Excellent

Posted by Andrew on 10th May 2012

I love this jacket so far. I have gotten a lot of compliments already. It is fitted but not too tight, and the liner is warmer than I expected. It has a great design and look that you can't really find anywhere else... thanks so much!

  2. Extremely impressed by the fit and cut!

Posted by Unknown on 9th May 2012

    Hi Arlene,
I just received my jacket, it is the ONLY! I'm extremely impressed by the fit and cut- I don't look like an ape in it. The women in my office said that if I did not tell them it was a motorcycle jacket, they would have thought it a nice casual blazer. I've never seen another like it in NYC- I feel like fashion maven. I'm gonna look too cool on my 1981 silver Yamaha XS650 cafe racer with my new gun metal jacket.

  3. To Help Others With Sizing .... and LOVE this jacket

Posted by Unknown on 13th Apr 2012

If you’ve bought riding gear before, you know everyone advises to buy a tight fitting jacket so the protective pads stay put where they are meant to be and it doesn’t balloon in the wind. But every waist length jacket I’ve worn, I feel constricted & even the light mesh ones, I can’t wait to get them off even the custom tailored ones that fit perfectly.

In many ways this jacket is similar but it also has so much more to offer.

Trust the description when it reads this jacket provides “a more tailored fit”. My chest measures 48” exactly. I’m 6’2” / 210 lbs if that matters. In an off the rack suit, I can wear a 46, 48 in a quality Italian suit. A size XXL in this jacket fits me perfectly subject to the following comments.

It is smooth across the shoulders, back & chest like a tailored suit. I also has long sleeves which I love because in a tailored shirt, I wear a 35” sleeve and the sleeves of this jacket hang down to my finger knuckles when standing, but shorten when arms are extended to the handle bars. So even though the jacket is “tailored fit”, because of the long sleeves & ¾ length, it doesn’t look like I’m busting out of suit that I’ve outgrown. If I gained 10 lbs, it might.

But I also have a 32” waist. If your waist is 36” or more, this jacket would be too snug for a more “portly” person so it really is designed for the age & body image of the models shown.

It’s a little tighter under the armpits than a tailored suit jacket, something you may notice if you have developed lat muscles but not confining. Just means it’ll be tighter under the arms if you’re wearing a bulky sweat shirt.

But I also wear the jacket withOUT the vested liner, ALL the protective padding removed except for the shoulder pads and only wear one layer underneath, for the following reasons.

This jacket is so much more than a riding jacket. It is a great spring to fall all round very classy yet unassuming ¾ tailored coat even if you never get on a bike. You could walk into the best New York restaurant with dress pants and not look out of place. It is completely wind proof so even with just a t-shirt, I’m totally warm in 45 degree rainy weather with a stiff wind blowing off the ocean. My face & hands will get cold long before I feel the cold on my body. If I put the liner in, I probably could handle colder weather.

I wear it on cool days to a suit-n-tie office over just a shirt when I don’t feel like a suit and overcoat. To everyone it looks like a stylish ¾ suit jacket. It’s way dressier than those nylon rain jackets that you see all over the rainy northwest that people should only wear when hiking. I could travel the world with only this jacket. I can also wear this riding in cooler weather and walk in anywhere without looking like I just got off a bike. And because it’s ¾, it just feels more comfortable & more protective on a bike than a waist length jacket.

As I said, I wear it without the liner or the padding because 75% of my wearing is off bike as my riding is strictly short distance city traffic (less than 30 min). No freeways and will always take a car if the morning is already 40 degrees.

With my dimensions, if I wore all the padding & liner, in the size XXL I definitely feel the back protective padding. The jacket is tight enough across the back that people can also see there’s something under the jacket but they can’t see the elbow pads. To me, while I don't mind the elbow pads, that back pad feels uncomfortable (but then most fully protective jackets are) and I definitely could not add layers underneath. Otherwise the jacket fits perfectly over every other part of my body without any loose fabric.

Had I gotten a bigger size, the jacket would definitely feel roomier with all the padding but at the same time it would feel bulkier, heavier & wouldn’t have the same tailored look. With the padding and liner removed, the larger jacket would now also look like a baggier street overcoat.

It really comes down to how you like to dress, your jackets to fit in relation to your body measurements. If you’re my size or bigger, want to keep all the protective padding, want the room to layer with t-shirts & sweaters cuz you ride a lot in cold weather get a bigger size than the XXL. But trust me, this jacket is surprising warm with just a t-shirt.

In the end, with a 48” chest, sizing is the same problem as buying a quality cloth winter overcoat. If you have it made to fit over a suit, it’ll look baggy if you just wear it with a t-shirt or single layer shirt. And if tailored for just a shirt, it’s too tight in the shoulders to wear over a suit.

Bottom line: buying riding gear is always a compromise. The most custom tailored protective jacket will always make you look like you just came off a race course. And the best street wear will offer you zero protection especially from the wind.

This military jacket is the LEAST compromising and best looking all round multi-purpose jacket I’ve found. If it fits, you definitely will not regret your purchase.

  4. LOVE this jacket!

Posted by Unknown on 27th Nov 2011

GoGo Gear in Vero Beach, FL. LOVE my jacket! Above 80 degrees, it's a little warm (particularly when the humidity is factored in:) but I have never felt safer, nor more stylin' on the scooter! Word of advice to those whom own this jacket: when washing, make sure the velcro is attached to itself, else it grabs everything but the Cordura:). Can I tell you again that I LOVE this jacket?! I will definitely be getting either a green or grey one for a backup/warmer weather piece. Many thanks Arlene for taking the time and r&d to create one for the fellas! (and for being so awesome with customer support!)

  5. I'm taking this jacket instead of one of the other 12 jackets hanging in my closet!

Posted by Ken in Chicago on 8th Sep 2011

    Arlene,
Just a quick note. I purchased a mens coat couple of weeks ago. My daughter works there, Sarah. The jacket is the best. I ride mostly motorcycles but scooters sometime. I am glad you made this design. Everything about is great. I like all the little things you put in your designs like the wind cuffs in the sleeves. I am on my way to the UK today and I am taking this jacket to ride instead one of my other 12 jackets that are hanging in my closet. I am going to ride in the ACE Cafe rockers reunion this weekend which has over 40,000 attendees. Again thanks for making a jacket that works and looks great.

  6. Like putting on a warm hug...

Posted by Unknown on 20th Jul 2011

A follow up email from the guy who reported that the jacket fit like it was tailor made... He writes "Well it rides like a champ and it was like putting on a warm hug this morning to get to work."

  7. Fits like it was tailor made...

Just received this message from a customer...

"Just got it and it fits like it was taylor made and is so much cooler than the pictures represent! Thank you thank you thank you! Finally a scooter jacket that is comfy, stylish and doesn't look like a scooter jacket! Bravo!"
